E3: Second Day; Nintendo

I was listening to the people in G4 talk about, or rather, guess what Nintendo might reveal. And I agreed. I agreed that last year's E3 for Nintendo was horrific, if not, a shameless action. I agreed that this year's presentation needed to be great, not good, or warmly affective, just great. I also agreed that Nintendo needed to introduce new games, not for the casual players, but for the hardcore gamers; the ones that will do anything to buy a killer Wii game. They needed to announce good-looking games, with action, big guns, etc. The result was a...shameless action, again.

Nintendo came out with this new logo, just like last time, trying to force it's fans to accept their ineptitude. And I'm guessing it won't work. "Everyone's Game" was the new logo. And it's ridiculous-a ridiculous way of saying "we don't have much, but what we have is enough." Their presentation was boring, preachy and 100% lame. They didn't announce anything spectacular, anything mind-blowing, just a few titles of games we knew were coming. New Super Mario Bros., thanks but no thanks, I finished that game when I was six. Mario Galaxy 2, okay yeah fine; I'm looking forward to it, I might buy it. And then Wii Fit plus...WTF? An add-on for the play-it-once-let-it-rot wii board? Come on!! And then there was the Wii Sports Resort, it looks like a good sequel to the fun Wii Sports, but it doesn't cut it. Real gamers, not your grannies or your supermoms and sons, want real games. Is that so hard to understand? We want games that are fun, games that come out weekly for the X-Box 360 and the PS3.

There were three games, that I remember, announced in all their sermon. The rest was boring examples of how "fun" and "family oriented" their console is, and how many more systems the Wii sells. I know the Wii is king, but their core gamers are upset. All these other people buying Wii's just because it's trendy play it once then leave it; they're not serious gamers. Nintendo's presentation was a fail. I'm not burning my Wii, yet, but I did look at it and kicked it.
